Cerita pasal novel

Entry kali ni kita sempoi sikit. Gunakan bahasa rojak (english malay campur). Coz full english, feel dia kurang; and proper malay is way too formal. I don't think I can manage to speak a full malay paragraph without inserting any english word. The last time I do that, maybe during O level Malay Oral?

Nak cakap pasal my recent interest: baca cerpen & novel melayu. Aisehman, tkle percaya kan?

I was definitely a not a bookworm. Baca buku on & off. Lebih suka tengok cartoon, anime and kalau baca pon, it'll be JAPANESE MANGA.

The first series of books that manage to get me hooked is HARRY POTTER series. After following through the first 3 movies, I started to read the 4th book (GoF). Yes, not the first book! If not mistaken, at that time I was at my Aunt's place in Melbourne, Australia. Long holiday - 2months plus mayba? Super bored coz their holiday is not the same as ours in SG.

Then I happened to find the book, which belongs to my cousin. Lepas tu, hooked. I think manage to read till 5th or 6th book. Balik SG, cari the first 3 books, borrow library n from my fren. OH YEAH! The books are way better than the movies. Sanggup reserve buku pat library just to get my hands on the Deathly Hallows, yang masa tu baru je keluar.

Then, I became Ron/Hermione shipper! Ok actually it probably start from second movie yang scene they almost wanted to hug each other but resorted to an awkward hug instead. But after reading the books, R/Hr is my fav. Hahahaha.

Now back to cerita malay storybook, atau orang panggil novel melayu.

Last time, my elder cousin satu ni ada simpan collection of novel melayu. At that point of time, I was probably thinking "apalah yang best sgt novel2 ni?" To me, mostly jalan cerita dia cliché je. Sama je semua. Langsung tak minat.

Entahla, macam mana boleh sangkut. I remember pernah baca satu cerpang (la kot, sebab buku tu tak setebal novel biasa). Tapi that's that la. Tak terpanggil lagi nak baca cerita lain.

Lepas habis Harry Potter series, suka baca short stories & short series (Fanfiction). Some stories mmg best la plot dia and everything. Tapi after some time, I got bored and balik semula pat Manga. 

Then I discovered Penulisan2u.net. Haaa...suka baca cerpen melayu dia. Sebab tak payah tunggu sambungan. Cerita pendek la kan nama dia.

Entah la, tetiba je boleh start pergi library, pinjam novel melayu those author yang nama macam familiar. Lepas tu, sampailah sekarang masih lagi buat gitu, pinjam buku pat library. Malas nak beli, tkde tempat nak simpan pat rumah. At least ALAF 21 ada jual ebook. Tak makan physical, cuma memory space je. Hahaha.

I can say that I only read for fun, leisure. Sebab, ada certain cerita after da baca, I tak ingat full jalan cerita dia. Hahaha. I love short &  sweet stories. Kalau ada conflict pon, tak payahla complicated sangat kot.

Tapi biasalah. Ada jalan cerita yang sepesen je. Ada yang plot entah pape je (maklumlah kadang2 yang tulis tu budak sekolah menengah kot, belom matang). 

Benda2 yang boleh kasi fed-up masa baca cerpen:

1. SHORTHAND. Sesungguhnya, shorthand, atau bahasa sms yang sekarang entah apa2 (yunk = yang, skunk = sekarang, etc.), bukan buat bacaan umum ok. Kau baca sorang. Kalau nampak mcm ni, I won't even try to read them.
2. PARAGRAPH. Satu paragraph, banyak betol sentences dia. The whole conversation pon sumbat dalam sstu paragraph.
3. ENGLISH & Grammatical errors. Hahaha. Maybe I'm a Grammar Nazi kot, sikit je la. Tapi seriously, janganlah dok pikir nak pakai English sentence kalau grammar dia tonggang terbalik, especially kalau dia da portray this person as an educated individual, holding a high post in a company, tapi bila bual english..Hancuss...

But one thing, I wonder: novel2 ni ada go through editing ke tak? Seriously kadang2 english dorang entah pape je. Spelling salah, grammatical error jangan ckp. Kalau nak kata Singlish pon tak jugak. Kalau sikit, boleh tutup sebelah mata. Tapk kalau da banyak sangat...mcm what seh?!

But ada satu cerpen/novel ni, I can't help but feel really impressed by it's English Grammar. Bila da baca2, I found that tempat2 yang dia pakai, very familiar. Then found out that she's a Singaporean (patutlerr...and tempat2 dia pakai: daerah Bugis). Not saying all Malaysians are not good in English, there are good ones out there. *Don't ever twist my words eyhh!!"

Eh but I admit, their Malay are awesome. I can't beat them.

Some of my fav authors:

Rehan Makhtar (lebih minat cerpen dia & short series dia: cerita Muhara, Zafran-Anaresa, Zafrin, and adik dia, apa eh nama? Zafrina ke? Dgn novel yang baru keluar pasal Arayie)

Syamnuriezmil (cerpen dia best kot).

Lepas tu I discovered HLOVATE (Selalu nampak nama dia dalam cerpen2). Yang sempat baca: Aa+Bb, contengan jalanan, versus, Pelangi (koleksi novel). Cerita2 dia, fuhh. Boleh sentap la baca. Feel..maksud mendalam.

Dari pelangi, boleh terdiscover SYUD. Writing style dia best.

Another one: RIN AHMAD - Untuk Semua Dosaku. Tak sengaja discovered. Skrg ni tgh nak kejar ARLUNA. Tapi susah nak dapat pat library. Nak reserve, malas. Tkpelah, nanti da tak dapat cari buku lain boleh reserve.

Along the way adalah buku2 yang pernah baca. Sebenarnya saya isteri dia; concidentally after habis baca buku dia, they made this into drama.

Ada jugak yang da baca first few pages atau setengah buku, tak interesting. Letak tepi, lepas tu return sebab da nak dekat due date.

Apa-apa pun, I am impressed with all those people yang manage to come up with a cerpen or novel (although they might have mistakes here & there. Heck, nobody is perfect yeah.), I don't think I can ever do that!

Makk. Panjang pulak entry kali ni. Okay, nak sambung baca buku. Managed to get another cerpen from Syud. Daaa~~
